Sunset Sasquatch is a quirky family dramedy

The Zellner brothers have created a new film named “Sasquatch Sunset,” which explores the world of Sasquatches. The film is produced by Bleeker Street and is set in North America’s misty forests. It follows the journey of a family of Sasquatches – Riley Keough, Jesse Eisenberg, Christophe Zajac-Denek, and Nathan Zellner – possibly the last of their kind. Over one year, they embark on an absurd, epic, hilarious, and ultimately poignant journey, fighting for survival as they collide with the ever-changing world. These hairy and noble giants will make you laugh, cry, and root for their survival as they adjust to the changing world.

One of the first things viewers should know if they plan to view the film is that there is no dialogue, as the family primarily communicates in grunting noises. In addition, with the film’s R rating, the director pushes the boundaries with odd sex scenes and lots of scenes where the characters use bodily functions.

The film may be your cup of tea if you’re still following along. “Sasquatch Sunset” blends gross-out humor, heartwarming moments, and supernatural elements in a unique and captivating way. The directors deserve credit for creating a story that is both entertaining and heartwarming, with a touch of otherworldliness. Despite the characters’ unusual appearance, their family dynamics are relatable, which makes it easy to invest in their journey.

Although the characters are unnamed, I gave them names and identities. The standout performances came from Riley Keough, who portrayed Sasquatch Mama with a perfect balance of sass and charm, and Jesse Eisenberg, who played Papa Sasquatch with an endearing and hilarious quality. Even though there is no dialogue, the chemistry between the cast is natural, and their nonverbal communication adds depth to the story.

Overall, “Sasquatch Sunset” offers a fresh and exciting take on the family adventure genre, proving that extraordinary things can come in unexpected packages. While I doubt that I will watch it again, I appreciate the avant-garde approach to storytelling, and fans of this genre will enjoy this film.

 Final Grade: C+

“Music By John Williams” gives a legendary Maestro his flowers

On a musical level, the documentary is a library of Williams’ great works. It’s dramatic performances of his most famous songs, such as the classic “Star Wars” marches, the grand piano music from “Jurassic Park,” and the melancholy music from “Schindler’s List.” Each song is part of a narrative, a call to revisit old films and remember their heart-wrenching connections. Its thrilling finale (which celebrated his work on “Harry Potter”) also underscores the longevity of his music among audiences today.
