Washington, D.C.-based singer Raheem DeVaughn is coming home for two shows later this month at The Legendary Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, Virginia. So, for this week’s Slow Jam Saturday, a segment where we celebrate the best slow jams in R&B, I wanted to give some kudos to one of his new ballads, “Let’s Fall in Love.”
Initially released in 2023 on the crooner’s “Fall in Love” EP, the lush ballad covers The Isley Brothers’ classic. As evident by his “Jackin 4 Beats” series and his participation in the “The Secret Garden” remake with Omar Wilson, Sisqo, and Shawn Stockmen, DeVaughn is no stranger to cover songs. He always adds his unique flavor, making each rendition a must-listen for R&B fanatics.
The song “Let’s Fall In Love (Pts. 1 & 2)” by The Isley Brothers adeptly captures the fervor and longing associated with the initial stages of romantic relationships, a sentiment well-recognized by soul music enthusiasts.
