Despite threequel normalcy, jeen-yuhs finishes strong

The three-act documentary Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy concludes with act III titled “Awakening.” When we left off in Act II, Kanye was a full-fledged superstar. Directors Coodie & Chike open part 3 with archive footage of Ye in 2002 performing a lost song, “Wow,” he spits one of my favorite bars, “Mayonnaise colored Benz, I push a miracle whip.”

Honest chemistry from the leads can’t save The Royal Treatment from clichés

After focusing on television series such as Spartacus and Ash vs. Evil Dead, director Rick Jacobson returns to features in Netflix’s, The Royal Treatment. Holly Hester pens the film, a standard romantic comedy full of tropes that viewers will recognize instantly. Isabella (Laura Marano) runs her own salon and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, while Prince Thomas (Mena Massoud) runs his own country and is about to marry for duty rather than love.

Cobra Kai Season 4 is a successful balance of comedy, martial arts and heart

The Karate Kid universe continues to expand as Cobra Kai returns to Netflix for an exciting fourth season. Cobra Kai Season 4 finds the Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) led Miyagi-Do and Johnny Lawrence’s (William Zabka) Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down John Kreese’s (Martin Kove) Cobra Kai at the All Valley under 18 Karate Tournament, and whoever loses must hang up their gi.

Red Notice

Red Notice is clichéd but worth a one-time watch

Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot bring their talents to Netflix in the global comedic adventure Red Notice. Rawson Marshall Thurber, who previously worked with Johnson on the enjoyable popcorn flicks Central Intelligence and Skyscraper, writes and directs the film with the stylish globe-trotting game of cat-and-mouse (and cat).
