Album Review : Coco Jones, “Coco By The Fireplace”

Coco Jones, a gifted songstress known for her captivating vocals, delights her fans with an early holiday gift from her enchanting EP, “Coco By The Fireplace.” The title of the EP, a metaphor for warmth and comfort, perfectly encapsulates the cozy and intimate atmosphere Jones aims to create.

“Coco By The Fireplace “stands out as it comprises original compositions, showcasing Jones’s artistic creativity and songwriting prowess. By avoiding cover songs, she maintains a fresh and authentic sound that invites listeners to experience the warmth and charm of her unique musical vision during the holiday season.

Jones has written three songs for the EP titled “Call On Christmas,” “My Presence Is A Present,” and “String Of Lights,” all produced by the renowned Johnny “JT” Thomas Jr. For the album’s opening track, “Santa Is Me,” she joined forces with the track’s producers Joshua Antwon, Richard Wiggins, Theevoni, and DxnnyFxntom, creating a track that is sure to excite her fans.

“Santa Is Me” finds Jones crooning about being content without having a partner to trim the tree with this holiday season. Instead, she’s spent the year working on herself and seeing the fruits of her labor come to fruition. ” Call On Christmas” finds Jones calling out to a former love about making things suitable for the holiday.

“My Presence Is A Present” exudes a powerful female empowerment vibe, where Jones asserts her worth and demands appreciation from her partner. “String Of Lights” closes with a harmonious ballad, a testament to Jones’s strength and resilience.

With a co-starring role in “Bel-Air,” and a recent Grammy nomination, “Coco By The Fireplace” is a beautiful capstone to Jones’s trailblazing year.

Final Grade: B+
